혁신 클러스터는 특정 부문과 지역에서 운영되는 독립적인 기업(혁신 신생 기업, 소 중 및 대기업뿐 아니라 연구 단체)들의 집합으로, 집중적인 상호작용, 설비 공유 및 지식과 전문성 교환을 촉진하고 클러스터 기업들 간의 기술 이전, 네트워킹 및 정보 보급에 효과적으로 기여함으로써 혁신 활동을 시뮬레이션하기 위해 고안되었습니다.
미드 클러스터는 그리스 최초의 혁신 클러스터로, 2006년 설립 이후 지속적으로 회원이 증가하고 있으며 현재 그리스 혁신 기업, 학술연구소 및 그리스 전역의 연구 단체를 포함해 참여하고 있는 단체만 해도
