Corallia became a full member of the EBN
Brussels, 7 October 2014: An important step toward the promotion of the Greek potential to develop innovation and entrepreneurship at European level has been made with the full membership of Corallia at the acknowledged network EBN and the acquisition of the quality-certification EU | BIC, the reference point in business and innovation small-business support in Europe
Corallia became part of a network with a history of 30 years, more than 160 quality-certified EU|BICs (business and innovation centres, incubators, accelerators and other support organisations) and 100 Associate Members that support the development and growth of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs. EBN is a community of professionals whose day-to-day work guides these businesses to grow in the most effective, and efficient way, delivering sustainable impact.
The quality certification EU | BIC is further added to the achievements and certificates Corallia has already received (ISO, Cluster Management Excellence) and reflects its commitment to excellence. As a cluster facilitator, Corallia plans to offer more benefits to the members of the three clusters it coordinates and develops [gi-Cluster, mi-Cluster and si-Cluster], supporting them with services in the frame of an internationally acknowledged network.
Mr. Philippe Vanrie, CEO of EBN, stated: "We are very proud to see Corallia Clusters Initiative joining EBN as a full member and to add another EBN certified hot-spot where innovative entrepreneurs and SMEs can find an accredited EU|BIC. Corallia Clusters Initiative has demonstrated, through the deployment of an independent audit, its compliance and full alignment with the EUIBIC quality mark criteria, the standard of reference in business and innovation small-business support. The EU|BIC trademark is, and has been for the latest 30 years, a sign of distinction and excellence among the innovative-business support organizations, because we believe supporting start-ups and SMEs is a very serious job, one that needs to be undertaken with high level of professionalism, with serious teams, processes, tools and with committed partners. Combining a double mission of both public and private sector interest, we are confident that Corallia Clusters Initiative will contribute to the virtuous transformation of the Greek entrepreneurial and innovation economy".
Additionally, Dr. Jorge Sanchez, Chief Strategy & Financial Officer of Corallia characteristically mentioned: "It is a great honor for us to become a member of the EBN family as an acknowledgment of the systematic effort and methodological work over the past nine years in Greece and in Europe. It also places us among the European certified institutions which support business development and reveals our commitment to our vision, our organizational sufficiency, the range and quality of our services provided to young entrepreneurs and the Greek innovation ecosystem, as well as the quality and efficiency of our interventions and our partners. The recent achievement is actually considered another cornerstone of pursuing our vision for a Greek environment with the right framework conditions which will allow science, innovation and entrepreneurship to flourish - again."
