Maroussi, 17.05.2010: The Business Acceleration Program - Striving for Business Excellence is a highly needed program intended to enrich prominent Greek technology companies and entrepreneurs with "business experience" and assist in their advancement to the next level is open for final registrations.
The program (download the latest version of the Program Brochure) is offered and coordinated by UP and to the RIGHT, endorsed by and designed with the insights of the Corallia Clusters Initiative and the Hellenic Semiconductor Industry Association and the participation of Experienced Executives and CEOs, Business Acceleration Experts, Venture Capital Investors, Business Professors and Entrepreneurs.

Goal
The goal of the Program is to enhance the capabilities of prominent Greek technology companies in developing high value businesses, and to promote technology business alliances for commercialization of innovations into global markets.
Objectives
The objectives of the program are to increase the business sophistication level and skill set of managers and entrepreneurs in (i) developing a credible value proposition to attract customers; (ii) pursuing businesses for high growth markets; and (iii) presenting a compelling business case to investors.
Purpose
The key goals related to the target audience are to: (i) shift their mindset from "technology out" to "market-in"; (ii) mentor them to become extrovert in pursuing customers in global markets; and (iii) coach them on how to evolve their ideas and innovations into investor-backed high growth businesses.
Format
Some entrepreneurs may believe that enhancing their business capabilities is not essential. As such, the Program first exposes to them what they may not grasp from real life experience and proceeds to raise their business sophistication with workshops, hands-on exercises and real exposure to the global market place.
Structure
The program will be conducted in English. Qualifying participants will attend in two-person teams who will act as the CEO & CTO during the course in crafting their technology business case for attracting customers and investors. The case includes team exercises and role playing on various topics such as, operating plan, business strategy, value based selling, licensing, fundraising and other non confidential subjects. As such, companies or teams should be careful not to disclose any information considered to be confidential or proprietary.
Venue
The
Microelectronics Innovation Center in Maroussi, Athens. Seminars will be held in amphitheater style rooms and may be video taped. Workshops will be held in conference rooms in a suitable private setting.

The Program will be carried out during 2010 in four stages, which include pre-work, seminars, workshops and real life experience as follows:

Who Should Attend
Technology entrepreneurs and senior managers, executives, or leaders of technology companies. Expertise and experience of the participants are critical to the learning process. Essential prerequisites are fluency in English, a technology-related degree, basic skills in business planning and knowledge in financial statements.
Contributing Experts
The contributing Experts consist of Seminar Speakers and Workshop Presenters most of which have substantial experience from studying or operating overseas, as well as domain expertise in related technology markets. Aside of the short term educational objective, a longer term goal of the Program is to bridge Experts in the US, EU and Greece and build technology business alliances in the High-Tech business ecosystem.
